The Scoop at the Hook
Spotlight's On Will May

A strong business is bolstered by the strength and dedication of its employees. At Mighty Hook, we come in, day-in and day-out, and give it our all to make sure our customers always receive the best. For this edition of “The Scoop @ the Hook,” we want to take the time to celebrate the hard work of one of our Shipping & Receiving specialists, Will May.
We are so thankful to have Will as part our Mighty Hook family. He always comes to work with a smile on his face and a friendly “Good Morning” ready for all who walk through the door. Whenever you see him, he is bustling away, working on the next order for shipment or helping to load or unload a shipping truck. It has been a great experience working with someone who is so diligent in their work and kind and caring to those they work with. Read on below to hear Will’s story!
Thank you for sharing your story with us today! Have you always worked in shipping? How did you end up at Mighty Hook?
I have been working in shipping and receiving jobs for almost 26 years now. I ended up at Mighty Hook by applying for the Shipping & Receiving position through an online job posting site. I was fortunate to be called in for an interview and met with some of the good people at Mighty Hook, and they hired me.
How long have you been with Mighty Hook now? What have you enjoyed most about your job?
On March 11th, 2019, I will be six years at Mighty Hook. I enjoy the people I work with. I can honestly say these are not just my coworkers, but they are family to me. We have our ups and downs, but we have more ups than downs. We’re like a real family.
At Mighty Hook, you are always on the go and focused on the task at hand. What do you do to balance out all that hard work outside Mighty Hook? What are some things you are passionate about?
I am passionate about spending time with my family. That is first and foremost. I love spending the weekend watching TV and catching up on movies from the past.
This winter has been a rough one here in Chicago. Do you have any exciting plans for your summer?
Summer will be very uplifting. I will enjoy spending time with family and friends, family reunions, and taking a few trips. For the 4th of July, I will love spending time with my kids and enjoying the fireworks.
If you could offer any advice or words of wisdom to our readers—either life- or work-related—what would it be?
Always follow your heart and mind. They will never fail you. Stay positive and set goals for yourself as well as others.
