How Our New Space Will Make Us Better Partners for You

At Mighty Hook, our products make our clients’ production lines faster and more efficient. So, when we began designing a new facility for our production line, increasing our efficiency, speed and productivity were all top of mind.

We needed a new space to match our growth so we could produce our products better and faster to meet our customers’ needs. Fortunately, we have a close working relationship with Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center. IMEC helped us design our previous space, so we knew they would be the perfect allies to help us improve the layout of our new space. IMEC team members are experts in Lean Design, helping manufacturers create lean, streamlined workspaces that maximize productivity. They were instrumental in helping us optimize our new space, and figuring out the best way to use our new facility. 

IMEC facilitates an active and collaborative approach, just like us. In December 2020, they first met with our team. Then we splintered into smaller groups, each group comprised of both management and production personnel, to brainstorm multiple layout options.

We then reviewed those options as a group, with each team member scoring those selections on a variety of criteria such as travel distance between machines, workplace safety, convenience, visibility, the need for open spaces, and more. We also considered a variety of other important considerations such as the need for safe forklift traffic and team member health.

The resulting, final layout was something everyone at Mighty Hook could embrace and feel ownership of, and that will help us produce our products better, faster and safer. 

We’re still in the process of moving to our new facility, but we can’t wait until we’re at 100% operation. We’re excited to show you how our new speed and efficiency will help us be a better partner for you.
